IIT JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) is the single gateway for students who wish to seek admission to IIT’s, NIT’s, CFIT’s, as well as other engineering colleges and technology institutes run by the state governments and private institutions who have adopted JEE. IIT JEE exam is mainly divided in two categories i.e. JEE Main and JEE Advanced. While JEE Main is the first round of entrance exam, JEE Advanced would be next stage exam. Only those applicants who qualify in JEE M eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced Exam. Thus, it requires lot of pl and execution to clear the first phase of the IITJEE Exam.

JEE Mains exam 2022 Candidate must have passed Class 12 from Science Stream or equivalent exam from a recognized board. |
Nationality |
Candidates must be a citizen of India. Foreign national candidates, as well as NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs, can also apply. |
Age Criteria |
For appearing in JEE Main 2023, there is no age limit for the candidates. |
Subjects to be Qualified |
Candidates must have studied a minimum of 5 subjects which will be considered. They are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, Language and any other subject.
For B.E./B.Tech, the subjects included are language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject. For B.Arch / B. Planning the subjects included are Language, Physics, Mathematics (mandatory), Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject. |
Number of Attempts |
Students can avail a maximum of three consecutive attempts for JEE Main. The first attempt is taken soon after the Class 12 board exam, followed by the other attempts in consecutive years. The exam will be held twice a year, so the total number of attempts a candidate can appear for is 6. |
For JEE Main Paper II |
Candidates applying for B.Arch programme must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually and in aggregate. Diploma holders are not eligible for the entrance exam. |

For the candidates belonging to the general category, they must have secured a minimum of 75% marks in their Class 12 board exams, or they must rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examination for getting admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs. For candidates belonging to a reserved category, a minimum of 65% marks is required to get admission to different undergraduate courses offered at IITs, NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs. |
Both Indian and foreign nationals (including OCIs/P10s) are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2023. However, foreign candidates are not required to take JEE Main and may register for JEE Advanced directly.

Slot Allotment |
NTA will randomly allot the date, shift timings to registered candidates. The website will announce the date and shifts time of the exams for both the papers. |
Application Form Correction |
Applying candidates can correct the details that are filled incorrectly. It appears after the application process is over and NTA starts the correction window form. |
Issuing Admit Cards |
The admit cards will be made available by the conducting authority of the exam – NTA. Please note the admit card issued to each student is a mandatory document required to be carried by the students. |

All candidates (already registered and new Registration) are required to upload address proof (Present and permanent address) during the online Application Form of JEE (Main)– 2023 Session- 2
An Affidavit can be made from Court mentioning that the candidate is staying in this address for a specific period may be uploaded for proof of present address in case a candidate is not able to upload AADHAAR Card / School ID Card / Rent Agreement / Bank Passbook, etc.
If present and permanent addresses are same, then one document will suffice.
Proof of Present and permanent addresses are to be merged in a single pdf file and that file is to be uploaded once. The size of pdf file should be from 50 to 300 kB.
If a candidate is staying in a rented accommodation, then a valid rent agreement may be used for uploading as a proof of present address.
In case, Guardian / Mother / Father got transferred in another city and candidate is staying with him / her, then certificate from Guardian / Father / Mother can be used as an Address proof for Present address?
