WHAT IS IIT-JEE?

IIT JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) is the single gateway for students who wish to seek admission to I ITs, NITs, CFITs, as well as other engineering colleges and technology institutes run by the state governments and private institutions who have adopted JEE.

IIT JEE exam is mainly divided in two categories i.e. JEE Main and JEE Advanced. While JEE Main is the first round of entrance exam, JEE Advanced would be next stage exam. Only those applicants who qualify in JEE M eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced Exam. Thus, it requires lot of pl and execution to clear the first phase of the IITJEE Exam.

JEE Mains 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Based on the following parameters the candidates will be eligible for JEE Mains Exam 2020:

Educational Qualification

JEE Mains exam 2020 Candidate must have passed Class 12 from Science Stream or equivalent exam from a recognized board.

Nationality

Candidate Must be Citizen of India, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs and even Foreign Nationals can also apply

Age Criteria

There is no Age Limit

Subjects to be Qualified

Candidates must have studied a minimum of 5 subjects which will be considered. They are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, Language and any other subject.

 

For B.E./B.Tech, the subjects included are language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject. For B.Arch / B. Planning the subjects included are Language, Physics, Mathematics (mandatory), Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject.

Number of Attempts

All aspirants can appear twice in a year. Students can appear for JEE Main for three years consecutively therefore the total attempts allowed for each student will be six in three years.

For JEE Main Paper II

Candidates applying for B.Arch programme must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually and in aggregate. Diploma holders are not eligible for the entrance exam.

Marks Eligibility

Gen/OBC candidates must have scored a minimum of 75% marks or should be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category must have minimum scores of 65% or be in the top 20 percentile of their boards for getting admissions in IlTs, NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs.

JEE Advanced 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Both Indian and foreign nationals (including OCIs/P10s) are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2020. However, foreign candidates are not required to take JEE Main and may register for JEE Advanced directly.

Performance in Class 12 (or equivalent)

:

Minimum 75% marks in 10+2 or equivalent or they must be within the category-wise to 20 percentile of qualified candidates in their particular 10+2 or equivalent examination. Candidates who appeared in 10+2 examination in 2018 but reappeared in 2020, the best performance from the two will be considered

Note : This exam has a Negative Marking of (-1) Mark for Each Question. There will be 20 MCQ questions and 5 Numeric Value questions (no negative marking).

JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Pattern

IIT Delhi will release the official exam structure of JEE Advanced in its information brochure. With the help of Exam Pattern, candidates can check how the examination will be conducted, the question types, marking schemes, etc. JEE Advanced Exam Pattern is not fixed and its subject to change every year.

Some of the key highlights of JEE Advanced 2020 Exam are as follows:

  • The main exam will be conducted in computer-based mode.
  • JEE Advanced consists of 2 papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2) and candidates have to appear for both the papers.
  • The question paper consists of three parts: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • There are MCQs and numerical answer type questions which candidates have to attempt.
  • JEE advanced exam marking scheme comprises of full, partial and zero marks scheme.

Steps to Apply for JEE MAIN Exam 2020

Apply Online

Register on the official website of NTA. Fill out the application form, upload scanned copies of relevant documents and images, and pay the application fee.

Slot Allotment

NTA will randomly allot the date, shift timings to registered candidates. The website will announce the date and shifts time of the exams for both the papers.

Application Form Correction

Applying candidates can correct the details that are filled incorrectly. It appears after the application process is over and NTA starts the correction window form.

Issuing Admit Cards

The admit cards will be made available by the conducting authority of the exam – NTA. Please note the admit card issued to each student is a mandatory document required to be carried by the students.

JEE Main 2020 Results

NTA shall announce the results for January and April exams, and it will contain the score and rank of the candidate which they’ve secured in the paper-1 of JEE Main 2020 Exam on their official site. It contains All Indian Rank and All India Category Rank
